This is so beautiful, as your writing always is, Melissa. And sad. Yes, we all feel the horror that is happening in Minnesota and elsewhere in this country. I love your ending. I'll try to be the cardinal.
Reading this made me realise that my dear friend and mentor is from Minnesota and it reminded me to check in on him, so thank you! I'm sorry about the pain you must feel about it.
On a different note- my backyard looks the same all year long. Not even rain to change how it looks, apart from maybe two days a year. In winter we add some flowering plants so that's the only change that lasts a few weeks atleast.

Hoping your friend is doing okay, Thushanthi. Things are tense there.
Where are you located? I bet you’re warmer than I am! 💜
Yes I'm in Doha, Qatar where it's a chilly (for me) 18 degrees 😄
Oh wow! Jealous of your sunshine and warmth. ☺️
And in a few months, when we can fry an egg on the sidewalk, I'll be jealous of yours! 😄
Thank you, Melissa 🙏🏾
💜
Keep writing, keep fighting. Eventually the tides will turn for what is heavy with good.
I know you’re right 💜
Beautiful writing, Melissa. And yes. And well. And well. And what do we do with those voice mail inboxes? I leave my messages, too. And wonder.
Well. I wonder too. We get louder I guess? Thank you for reading, Beth. 💜
Louder and ever louder.
So so beautiful.
Thanks for reading, my friend!
This is just what I needed this morning. Thank you for your words and hope. ❤️
Thank you for reading, Kristin. In it with you. 💜
